Methodology
Nursery Monitoring
Sample sizes, schedule, and bleaching protocol for nursery monitoring.
Nursery monitoring is done on the ReefApp:
- 20% of nursery corals monitored for a subset of variables: health condition and presence of associated fish and invertebrates
- 10% of each coral genotype monitored for growth
Monitoring Schedule
| Timing | Trigger |
|---|---|
| Immediately after the nursery is filled | Baseline |
| Every 3 months | Ongoing check |
| Immediately before next year's outplant (~1 year) | Outplant readiness |
Bleaching Monitoring
Bleaching monitoring should be conducted every 2 weeks starting at the first signs of bleaching in the nursery and continuing until corals have recovered — at the direction of the site Restoration Manager.
